Pressed Wool Felt Options

Pressed felt is reliant on the characteristics of wool. Unlike synthetic fibers, wool fibers have barbs on them. In the manufacturing of wool felt, the fibers are carded but also put through a wet process. Here they are worked together using moisture, pressure (or pressing) and vibration. The barbs cause the fibers to interlock. The density of pressed felt is determined by the amount of processing applied.

The most common pressed felts are made according to the SAE specifications. Please feel free to look at our SAE chart. We also offer sheet felt, felt wheels and felt mounts for buffing and polishing.
